Ashtanga for Beginners

Gillian wandered into her first yoga class in 2000, ‘looking for a nice exercise class.‛ Little did she realise how that ‘exercise class‛ would give her the tools to navigate some of life‛s more challenging moments with grace and calmness. Fast forward to 2016 and she has recently completed her 200-hour teacher training certificate with the Seasonal Yoga Academy in Glasgow. Having studied with some highly respected teachers, including Julie Hanson, Sue Woodd, Marrit Griffiths, Carla Webster, Judi Farrell, Roseann McKean, and has studied Anatomy with David Keil; Gillian has gained the benefits of having an experience of a wide variety of yoga schools and practices. Her own practice is based on the Ashtanga method, with elements of Seasonal Yoga, Hatha and Yin, she also benefits from daily meditation practice. Gillian is keen to develop her skills as a yoga teacher, and undertakes additional training, workshops and classes to further her experience and knowledge. She is passionate about yoga and meditation, and her aim is to introduce as many people as possible to the benefits of a regular practice. When Gillian is not teaching yoga or attending classes, she works as a primary school teacher and enjoys the odd stroll up a mountain or two.
