COVID-19 Safety Measures and Policies for students, visitors and teachers (updated 14th Sept 2020)

Below we have outlined our reopening measures to ensure how we can stay safe and protected from the coronavirus. Our new safety measures comply with current advice from the Scottish Government and our booking procedures are revised in response to the ‘new normal’! This is a fluid situation and we expect changes shall be made over time as we feel appropriate and necessary but rest assured they are there to enable us to take steps towards reopening with everyone's best interests at heart. 

We now have a new, revised timetable with our teachers rejoining the timetable :)

Please read the points below and let us know if you have any questions. We are over the moon to be reopening and we are well aware that in order for us to enable this we will have to work together to keep our studio a safe and happy place for everyone to enjoy.


1. Booking your classes (from 14th Sept 2020)

1.1 Please book any in-studio, online class or event via www.pranayogastudio.co.uk/book-here As space is very limited you must book your place in advance. Most of our in-studio classes will now operate as a 6 week block booking, however, if availability allows you can join the block at any point. Depending on availability there may also still be spaces for single classes, again, these spaces must be booked online in advance of your class time. We will not be able to accept drop-in attendees for in-studio classes. 1.2 We support the test and protect service to keep our community safe. Please make sure your contact details are up to date, just in case we need to speak to you. https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-test-and-protect-coronavirus-service/

1.3 Old Class Passes: For anyone who purchased a class pass after 1st January 2020 and still has credits remaining I’ve transferred the credit to its cash value on your account. You can use this amount towards any new bookings you wish to make.

1.4 Cancellations: If a cancellation is made more than 24hrs prior to the first class of the block a full refund will be granted. Any cancellations made within 24hrs will not be granted a refund. Cancellations cannot be made once the block commences. Should there be insufficient numbers for a class, both in-studio and online, the studio reserve the right to cancel and will issue the appropriate refund.

1.5 In the event of a second lockdown and the studio closes you will automatically be given a credit refund for any existing classes booked to redeem once the studio reopens. Please contact the studio if your circumstances require you to be issued with a cash refund.


2. Before you come to class

2.1 In a nutshell… Stay at home if you’re sick!

2.2 Please do not attend class if you are living with a vulnerable person.


3. Things to bring with you

3.1 You must bring your own mat, plus any props, blanket, towel, eye pillow you wish to bring for your comfort. Please ensure your mat is clean and in suitable condition for use. Should you require to borrow a mat please speak to your individual teacher beforehand to arrange. If you require any props and are unable to bring them with you please let us know and we'll help you out.

3.2 Please bring your own water bottle. Should you require water please ask your teacher and they will bring it to your mat.

3.3 Please bring your own tissues and take any of your used tissues with you when you leave.


4. When you arrive at 110 Cadzow Street…

4.1 Arrive dressed in your favourite yoga gear! If you need to get changed you can do so in the toilet on the 1st floor only. The kitchen, reception and locker areas are not in use.

4.2 Please arrive NO EARLIER than 10 mins before class. If you are earlier please wait outside the main door or in your car and maintain 2m social distancing with any fellow students and customers of neighbouring businesses.

4.3 Before you enter the doorway please put on a well fitting face mask. We kindly ask that you wear a mask until you arrive on your mat, then, once class is finished you’ll be asked to wear it again until you leave the building. Until government advice changes mask wearing is mandatory in all areas of our venue but NOT NECESSARY or advised whilst the class is running.

4.4 As you use the stairwell please remain aware of social distancing and be mindful and considerate of anyone else from CAB or LC Pilates when visiting our shared venue.

4.5 Upon arrival at reception all students and visitors will be asked the following questions. If anyone answers YES to any of them, they will not be permitted entry into the yoga studio.

Do you have a new continuous cough?

Have you experienced a loss or change in taste or smell?

Have you returned from travel abroad in the past 14 days?

Have you been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or who has been suffering from COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days?

4.6 Upon entry to the reception area please sanitise your hands and take your shoes off before you enter the studio space. Carry all of your belongings into the studio (including your shoes) and place them on the chair next to your allocated space.

4.7 We’ve marked out socially distanced places for you to put your mat in our studio.

4.8 After class please put your mask on, take all of your belongings and put your shoes back on in the hallway next to the lockers.

4.9 Toilet: only use one available on 1st floor. Please do not use the upstairs loo in LCPilates as they have their social distancing measures to adhere to also. See signage for use and cleaning instructions.


5. Staying Clean and Safe

5.1 If you need to cough or sneeze please do so into a tissue/ hanky (then bin it) or the crook of your elbow.

5.2 Please use hand sanitiser before leaving the building.

5.3 When you finish your class, please clean your mat and the floor around you, after you have picked up your mat, using the wipes/ spray allocated and disposing of in the nearest bin.

5.4A thorough cleaning of all used exercise areas including flooring and chairs will be completed by us after each class/appointment and we will allow at least 30mins between classes to accommodate.

5.5 All high touch surfaces will be disinfected and sanitised after every class.

5.6 One deep clean per week to steam clean, disinfect and sanitise.

Carla is offering live streaming classes w/c 23 March. There will be regular updates will class content and we hope to offer additional classes very soon. It's a surprisingly easy process (honest!) but if you are unsure about what it entails in ANY way please get in touch on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Here's how you can book!

Step 1: check that you are able to open www.zoom.us on your device

Step 2: visit our Prana website and book your class online as normal (must be at least 1 HOUR before class begins) and choose your payment option (class pass/ donation/ free)

Step 3: you will be sent a link with your 'meeting' (i.e. virtual class) details. Please click (or copy and paste) that link into your browser and follow the steps prompted by zoom.

Step 4: I'll start the meeting around 10mins before class time so you can decide then if you'd like to join in general chit-chat before class! You will be able to control your settings- i.e. if you want to be seen/heard. 

Step 5: before class begins, the teacher will mute everyone but may be able to see you if you don't actively switch your video icon to the 'off' setting

It is with a very heavy heart that I have come to the decision to temporarily close our studio with immediate effect until such time that the concerns over the global pandemic has passed.

The health of you all, our teachers and those we care for is of the greatest importance and comes above all else right now.

So I am asking you all kindly to continue to support our studio and our yoga community by understanding our decision to pause all bookings of classes and events until such time as we are able to reopen. That means suspending all single bookings/ class passes/ block bookings until we reopen and then we will pick up where we left off.

I am hoping to get some online classes to you very soon, in the meantime if you would like to get in touch with any concerns/ feedback/ suggestions please do.

How we are responding to current Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice and precautions


In our studio we are doing our very best to keep up with what seems to be hour to hour advice from the government, our national health service and other organisations such as WHO.  As a yoga studio and as a member of Yoga Alliance we are addressing as many of their advisory points as possible. For the time being, all classes, trainings and events are carrying on as normal but, if you are visiting the studio please adhere to our precautionary advice below and stay posted for any last minute updates. We are absolutely not in the business of scaremongering, as you know, but instead we are adhering to the yogic principles of ahimsa (non-harming) and so we must take care and be vigilant. It's important at this time to listen to advice given, take time to rest and laugh, and to look after ourselves and each other! When visiting our studio please adhere to the following precautions:

  • If feeling any symptoms of COVID-19 please STAY AT HOME
  • If you have recently returned from a category 1 or 2 country it's advised by the government to self-isolate for at least 14 days.
  • Please wash your hands as you arrive/ leave the studio and use disposable paper towels rather than regular cotton towels.
  • Use our alcohol-based mat sanitiser to wipe down a studio mat before and after use.
  • Bring your own towel to place over your borrowed mat/ bolster/ blocks or bring your own mat/ blanket/ strap/ eye pillow if you have them. It's advised not to use studio eye pillows for the time being unless you place it over your own towel first.
  • Please bring your own water bottle.
  • Avoid touching your face (especially, the eyes, nose and mouth).
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue and dispose of the tissue.
  • After using a tissue, wash your hands immediately and use your sleeve or clean tissue to open any doors.

In addition to this we will:

  • disinfect all commonly used hard surfaces daily with alcohol-based sanitiser
  • ensure we are stocked with soap, toilet paper (!) paper towels and tissues
  • suspend the availability of water/ tea and snacks for the time being
  • launder props more frequently
  • provide advice via signage and email/ social media updates
  • reduce/ stop hands on assists as per advice from agencies listed above
  • keep you updated to any changes to the above
  • be understanding of any last-minute cancellations
