Yogibairns (yoga for kids p1-7) 

"My first experience of yoga was when pregnant with my daughter 17 years ago. I continued to practice on and off for many years, always coming back to yoga when struggling with running injuries!

I really discovered the true benefits of yoga four years ago, when I started to practice more regularly with Laura McCrimmon. I was amazed by the many health benefits and I was interested to develop skills to deal with the stresses of everyday life.

I have been a teacher in a secondary school for pupils with additional support needs for 19 years; the last 9 years I have taught young people with severe and profound needs. I have been able to share some strategies to help alleviate tension and relieve stress with my pupils. However, I wanted to share the benefits of my yoga practice more fully. Hence, I decided to embark on the RYT 200 hour course with Merchant City Yoga.

I have recently successfully completed this course, where I studied with the highly respected June Mitchell and Judi Farrell.

My own practice is based on the Ashtanga method and I also enjoy Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga. I have a personal practice of Pranayama and Meditation.

I want to share the benefits of my practice with as many people as possible. I am also constantly taking steps to deepen my practice and further my knowledge by undertaking various workshops, additional training and classes. As a complement to my teacher training I shadowed and assisted Carla Webster in her 'Yogibairns' and 'Yoga Flow for Beginners' classes.  I recently completed the Kids Yoga Teacher Training with Cayetana Rodenas.
