Rest and restore- Yoga for deep relaxation 
 
This is a very slow and calming practice but the poses are very meaningful nonetheless!!
 
In this special extended pop up class, we will work on a mixture of restorative poses and yin poses. By using props to support the body we can reduce the amount of muscular effort required in poses and we can focus more on opening the body rather than actively stretching. You might be so comfortable in a pose that you don’t want to move!  We will also hold our poses for a bit longer thus targeting the yin tissues - the hips, pelvis and lower back are rich in connective tissues and respond to these slow and steady movements. 
 
By consciously inviting in relaxation as we practice our postures in this way, we help the body to deeply rest, relaxing and soothing the nervous system, helping to alleviate stress and reduce tension. 
 
Other benefits are improvement in immune function and joint mobility.
